Memory test
Last weekend we had been to Maiyyas restaurant for dinner. It is managed by MTR & they serve the same dishes as they serve in MTR. They served 25 in total & I want to test my memory, today, 3 days after we had dinner there & find out if I remember all the 25 items.
OK here is the list
1 Grape Juice
2 Soup
3 Kosambari
4 Betroot Palya
5 Veg Koorma
6 Aloo Sabzi
7 Poori
8 Basen Laddu
9 Maddur Vada
10 Papad
11 Sandige
12 Seviya Bisibele Bath
13 Raitha
14 Ghee
15 Paayasa/Kheer from C-dhal
16 Pickle
17 Rice
18 Sambar
19 Rasam
20 Red Chutney
21 Pepper chutney
22 Chips
23 Curd
24 Kesar Badam ice cream
25 Sweet Pan
Wow, this means I remember all the 25 items which is good. I was wondering if I actually remember all the items before I started putting this down.
Initially when we go there, we have a feeling of we should taste everything at least a little bit. But as time progresses & the people who serve there keeps getting more & more items, it will start worrying us... Can we really eat this much ??? You wouldn't want to sit there anymore to eat. So was my condition at MTR :)...People claim that it is one of the best places to have lunch or dinner. Items are good, no doubt about it. But honestly, it is too much of eating if we manage to eat everything they serve!!!
But one thing is sure...on a lazy weekend, when you don't want to do anything & just want to rest...we can go there, have good lunch or dinner & come back home...I found value for the money we pay there...

An Evening to Remember
Dr Raj kaTTe Padmanabhanagar had arranged Sangeeta Sanje (Musical evening) on Nov 1st. I had been seeing this banner for a while & my assumption was this will be one of those evenings where the orchestra will be hosted by some music company, they come sing & go back.
Nov. 1st one of my aunt was with us, visiting us after a long time. So we thought let us take her to the musical evening as it will be a change & its not too far from where we stay. So after a quick decision we set out for the Carmel school ground where this function was going on. When we went there we heard some one announcing they are the real God. These words generally kicked off my curiosity & wanted to find out in detail what it was all about. As I walked into the ground, with curiosity, I realized he was talking about blind girls who had come for singing. The anchor there was announcing generally people go to Temple & offer gold/silver/diamonds/money/valuables, when they know GOD actually don't take it. People give 3 crores & get the crown done for God, if God can do this to these kids, how is he God...These kids are real Gods. Help these kids & the GOD will bless you. I call these kids "ANDA makkaLu" & not ANDHA makkaLu....ANDA in kannada means beautiful & ANDHA means blind. How true....each word he mentioned touched me... I was on the verge of tears looking at those kids...Who should be seeing everything in the world, but actually see nothing. Kids sang few songs. A girl named Kavita sang a song "Araluva HoovugaLe"...This song threw my brain upside down & could not refrain myself crying like a child in a huge crowd of people there. Song actually meant, believe in tomorrow. Let hope become your life.
I was tocuhed when I heard the girl who can see nothing in life, said let us hope, let us believe for a better tomorrow. We are all blessed. We have everything in life we want. We have access to everything we wish in life. We can see, hear, walk, talk, jump, read, write, eat, we have all the things we wish for in life. What do we lack? Thinking about it, is it the thinking that we are lacking? Yes, we have everything but we don't think about those people who really need our help...Help not just financially, it could be emotionally, morally, etc. Lot of times, I realize help could also mean just listen.
The Anchor announced that the volunteers will come with a box to collect the fund for the kids & the money would go to those kids itself. I saw people immediately started donating whatever they can. I was moved by this. All of us do things for ourselves, our family, our people, our relatives etc etc...its always us us & us...There are few people as exceptions like Manjunath of Dr Raj kaTTe, who would do something for others. I want to do something different too. I want to bring a change in the way I think too. I will do this sometime soon. When I will start this is still a ?
WHAT AN EVENING IT WAS!!!!! I will never forget such a wonderful, a self teaching evening. I have learnt a lot in that 1 hour I spent there. I will never forget this Day of Kannada Rajyotsava in my life. The 1st Nov 2009.
