Maruti 800

Today morning I found some interesting facts about our own Maruti 800...I thought I should pen it down before I forget but could not do it till now as work kept me too busy. Now I think I should take a break now & put the facts I learnt about Maruti 800 before I forget many more facts about 800
1) I was surprised to know almost 100% of the components for Maruti 800 were actually imported, but still we called Maruti 800 "INDIAN CAR".
2) It was 1st released in India in December 1984
3) It was the highest selling car in India, till Alto was launched. After Alto launch, Alto took the credit of largest selling car in India
4) Maruti 800 is also exported to other countries like Srilanka, Bangladesh, Chili, Morocco with the name Suzuki Maruti :)
5) Maruti suzuki is considered small sized car as well.
6) Competitor for Maruti 800 now is Tata NANO, which is also classified as small sized car.
7) Nano has 8 percent lesser outer space & 23 percent more inner space.
My childhood memory of car always maps back to Maruti 800. We also owned one. I managed to take a snap of our car on Ayudha pooja over last weekend. I am going to miss our very near & dear Maruti 800 soon as we have decided to sell this car & go for an other one...
